MTTI is dedicated to educating and developing a workforce of innovative, problem solving, specialists with expertise in transportation materials. Their knowledge will lead the industry towards finding solutions for the sustainability of our transportation infrastructure.
At Michigan Tech, faculty and staff work closely with students providing experiential learning opportunities at all levels of education. Our graduate program offers a 4:1 student to faculty ratio and the opportunity to work on research projects for clients including US DOT-FHWA, MDOT, WisDOT, the Innovative Pavement Research Foundation, We-energies, the National Cooperative Highway Research Program, and many private companies and industries.
MTTI faculty and staff are committed to providing opportunities for students to explore their role in creating the transportation infrastructure of the future. Michigan Tech offers distinctive educational programs and students are encouraged to participate in active research projects at all levels of education.
Michigan Tech's Civil Engineering graduate program is ranked 49th in the 2007 US News and Word Report rankings. Michigan Tech has the only Peace Corp Masters International Program in Civil Engineering. Undergraduates and graduate students may earn a certificate in Engineering Sustainability or gain international experience by volunteering for Engineers without Borders.
